Day 1: ARRIVAL ALMERIA – LANJARON (140km – 1.5hrs)
Arrive at Almeria airport. Pick up your car. A representative of the car rental company will deliver you your hired car and inform you about how to proceed on your departure day. From the airport, drive to the seaside town of Almeria, located in the province of the same name, before going to Lanjaron This Mediterranean city boasts a history of Hollywood films and its Moorish past makes for a vibrant, eclectic setting.

Day 2: LANJARON
After breakfast at the hotel, walk out to the streets of Lanjaron to explore this wonderful town. It has enough to see and do to make a visit worthwhile at any time of the year. Savour the town’s tasty cuisine, admire the different neighbourhoods featuring traditional architecture of the hillside area of La Alpujarra, and stroll through beautiful gardens or venture out on a forest hike. The town’s main street has small shops where you can purchase traditional pieces of handmade pottery and wicker products.

Day 3: LANJARON – BAEZA (180km – 2hrs)
Recharge your energy with a morning breakfast at the hotel before bidding farewell to the tranquillity and healing waters of Lanjarón. Continue your journey north with a scenic drive through Andalusia to Baeza, making a rewarding stop in the historic city of Jaén, known as the world capital of olive oil. Here, you can visit the impressive Santa Catalina Castle, which offers panoramic views over endless olive groves, and explore the magnificent Jaén Cathedral, a masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance architecture. Arrive at your hotel in Baeza.

Day 4: BAEZA
After breakfast at the hotel, you can make a short trip to Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural Park, the biggest protected area in Spain and the second biggest in Europe, for a chance to see a wide array of wildlife and plant life. Another possibility is visiting the well-known city of Jaen, capital of the province, a city full of interesting history and architecture known as the ‘World Capital of Olive Oil’.

Day 5: BAEZA – GRANADA (130km – 1.5hrs)
After breakfast at the hotel, depart with your rental car and drive towards Granada, enjoying the scenic journey through the Andalusian countryside. Upon arrival, take some time to discover the city’s highlights before heading to your hotel. Stroll through the historic center and admire views of the Alhambra Palace, one of Spain’s most iconic monuments. Wander through the charming Albaicín quarter, with its narrow streets and traditional white houses, and enjoy panoramic views over the city. You may also pass by the impressive Granada Cathedral and lively local squares, perfect for a short break before check-in.

Day 6: GRANADA – DEPARTURE ALMERÍA (156km – 1.5hrs)
Hop into your car and drive back to Almeria after breakfast, back to where you began your journey. Perhaps take advantage of this last full day in the beautiful coastal location and spend some relaxing hours basking in the sun on one of the many fantastic beaches in the area. Don’t forget to take a dip in the warm Mediterranean Sea. Drop off the car and catch your departure flight back home.
Comfortable and light clothing is the most suitable for travelling in Spain. Visitors should not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or skimpy clothing when visiting temples, religious or official buildings. Sun protection, sunglasses, a hat and mosquito repellent in summer can be very useful during your stay.
