Day 1: Cagliari
Saturday: Cagliari or Surrounding areas
Arrival in Cagliari and accommodation at the hotel of the planned location (delivery of rooms from hours 4:00 p.m.). Before dinner, meet with our tour guide for the welcome cocktail and presentation of the tour. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Cagliari
Sunday: Cagliari, Archaeological site of Nora
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, a guided tour of the historic center of Cagliari, with a walk in the Castello district, the ancient heart of the city. You will admire the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Tower of San Pancrazio, the Bastion of Saint Remy and the streets rich in history, immersed in an authentic and evocative atmosphere. Followed by a panoramic tour of the Poetto beach, this shore is famous for its 7 km of white sand and crystal clear sea. Photo stop at Monte Urpinu for a great view of the Molentargius-Saline Natural Park, among the most important wetlands in Europe. Lunch not included. In the afternoon, transfer to Nora, one of the most important archaeological sites in Sardinia. Founded by the Phoenicians and later developed in Punic and Roman times, the city retains extraordinary remains: the Roman theatre, patrician domus with mosaic floors and other important elements of ancient urbanism. Weather permitting, chance of a short bathing stop, to be agreed on site with the tour guide (approximately 1 hour). Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Oristano
Monday: Barumini, Sinis Peninsula
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Barumini and visit to the famous Su Nuraxi, a nuragic complex recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dating back to the 2nd millennium BC and among the most significant examples of prehistoric Mediterranean architecture. Typical lunch in a fishpond. In the afternoon, continue towards the Sinis Peninsula with a stop at the early Christian church of San Giovanni di Sinis and free time available for a walk in the evocative natural setting of the peninsula. Possibility of bathing, to be agreed on site with the tour guide (approximately 2 hours). Accommodation at the hotel in Oristano or surrounding areas. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Alghero
Tuesday: Paulilatino, Bosa, Alghero
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Paulilatino and visit to the archaeological area of Santa Cristina, with the famous Nuragic Sacred Well, among the most fascinating sites on the island in terms of structure and symbolism. Continue to Bosa, one of “The most beautiful villages in Italy”, nestled along the Temo river, the only navigable one in Sardinia. Short tour through the characteristic streets of the ancient village and tasting of the renowned Malvasia di Bosa. Lunch during the excursion. In the afternoon, arrival in Alghero and visit to its historic center, full of traces of Catalan domination. Walk through the streets, small squares and ancient bastions, stopping at the Cathedral of Santa Maria, an example of Catalan Gothic. Hotel accommodation in Alghero, Sassari or surrounding areas. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Olbia
Wednesday: Castelsardo, Santa Teresa of Gallura
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Castelsardo, one of “The most beautiful villages in Italy”, perched on the sea and characterized by charming alleys and brightly colored houses. Walk in the historic center with an external view of the Doria Castle, which houses the Mediterranean Weaving Museum, and visit to the Cathedral of Sant'Antonio Abate, famous for its decorated crypts. Lunch not included. In the afternoon, continue along the panoramic coast towards Santa Teresa di Gallura, with a stop for a walk up to the viewpoint overlooking the Strait of Bonifacio. Arrival in Olbia or surrounding areas, hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Olbia
Thursday: Maddalena Archipelago, Emerald Coast
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by bus to Palau and boarding for the main island of the La Maddalena Archipelago. Visit to the town and panoramic bus tour of the island, with a stop for swimming (approximately 2 hours). Lunch not included. In the afternoon, continue to Porto Cervo, the social heart of the Emerald Coast, for a walk in its elegant center and free time available. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Cagliari
Friday: Nuoro, Orgosolo
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Nuoro and visit to the Museum of Sardinian Popular Arts and Traditions, the most important ethnographic museum on the island, guardian of traditional Sardinian culture and customs. Continue towards Supramonte, a mountain area rich in authentic landscapes and linked to the agro-pastoral roots of Sardinia. Arrival in Orgosolo, famous for its murals that tell stories of struggle, identity and culture. Typical lunch with the Sardinian shepherds, with local specialities such as roasted pork and traditional cheeses. In the afternoon, departure for Cagliari or surrounding areas. Hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.
