Beschreibung

An incredible getaway to Lisbon and Central Portugal.

If you have not yet had the opportunity to travel to Lisbon, in Portugal, know that it is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. There are many places to visit in Lisbon, also known as the city of the seven hills, of fado or of Bélem pastries. Something that you cannot stop doing and that will allow you to get to know the city better is to get lost in the neighborhoods of Bélem, Chiado, La Baixa, Barrio Alto and Alfama, where you can find some of the most incredible viewpoints in the city and many charming corners Its location between hills and in the estuary of the Tagus River, and its combination of a traditional and, at the same time, cosmopolitan city, gives the Portuguese capital great appeal.

Sintra deserves to have been declared a World Heritage Site. A charming historic center is the starter to a spectacular menu made up of castles, palaces, churches and museums that have little to envy of other European cities. The historic center of Sintra is small but attractively beautiful. On one side is the square and the National Palace, on the other a tangle of small streets full of charming shops and restaurants with Portuguese delicacies. The Pena Palace is without a doubt the star of the City. Just seeing the architecture of the palace and the different striking colors of the towers makes the visit worth it. Both the interior of the Pena Palace and the gardens that surround it are a clear example of 19th century Portuguese romanticism. In addition, its privileged location at the top of a hill gives more solemnity to the truly impressive place, not in vain up to five kings have lived there.

Cascais has historically been related to the upper classes of society and this relationship began in 1870 and it was thanks to the Portuguese royal family who transformed the region into a place that became attractive for the nobility and aristocracy, both national and international. These were the beginnings of how Cascais gained part of its vitality when, starting in the 1930s, it began to gather people from the Portuguese upper class. It even served as a country of refuge for the royal family of Spain, and other European royal families also came here to live. Cascais was known as "the refuge of the famous" and now, although it is no longer a luxury destination and is accessible and permissible for all types of travelers, it does maintain that relaxed, relaxed and non-massive atmosphere that characterized it at that time.

Lisbon is a city whose views are fantastic both from its interior and from the waters of the Tagus. Now, the Lisbon amphibious bus has arrived, a new vehicle that allows us to see the city from both sides without getting off the vehicle.

It is true that Fátima makes more sense for Catholics, but if you are not Catholic and also want to get to know this culture, it is worth visiting Fátima and seeing the relationship of the faithful and devotees with all the history and tourist attractions of the city. Basically, all the tourist spots are within the Sanctuary of Fátima and can be easily seen and visited on foot. The Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary is the heart of the Sanctuary. It was built in the place where the three little shepherds saw the Virgin of Fátima in 1917. The church was inaugurated in 1953 and it is there where the three little shepherds, Lucía, Francisco and Jacinta, are buried. Nazaré is a typical fishing village, seat of a small municipality, with white houses scattered on steep escarpments, and surrounded by huge rocks, Nazaré is one of the best tourist destinations in Portugal. Today it is still possible to walk through the streets of Nazaré, for example on its peaceful wall next to the beach, and find places housing the typical costumes of this town, the fishermen dressed in checkered shirts and black pants, and their women with seven skirts, often carrying out the typical fishing tasks of the region: mending the fishing nets or drying the fish on the sand.

About 70 kilometers from Lisbon lies one of the architectural jewels of Portugal, the town of Óbidos. It is a fortified citadel, as its name indicates, since "Óbidos" comes from the Latin "oppidum", a term used to designate the old walled cities. In fact, it is believed that Óbidos was a Celtiberian fort that expanded its perimeter over time. Some archaeologists even point to a possible presence of the Phoenicians in the area.

Buddha Eden – the largest oriental garden in Europe. The eastern garden with about 35 hectares was created in reaction to the destruction of the Buddhas of Banyan, where one of the greatest acts of cultural barbarity occurred, eliminating prime works of the end of Gandhara art. From Buddhas, to pagodas, terracotta statues and various sculptures, meticulously placed can be found in the gardens, it is estimated that six thousand tons of marble and granite were used to create this monumental work. The central stairs are the main point, where the golden Buddhas will welcome you. In the central lake, you can watch Japanese carp and sculpted dragons emerge from the water. There is also the opportunity to see seven hundred hand-painted terracotta soldiers, each unique copies of those who were buried 2,200 years ago. You will love the peace and tranquility of this unique and special location!

A unique experience that you will always remember!
